What is the Kidney Alliance?
The Kidney Alliance (KA) is an umbrella organisation formed in 1998 by The NKF, The British Renal Society and the Renal Association with an aim to bring together the patients’ voice and professionals committed to kidney care.

Mission/Goal
To promote prevention and early identification of kidney disease and high quality treatment for all patients at risk from or identified with kidney failure on an equal and uniform basis throughout the UK


Objectives

·    Work to influence policy makers and healthcare providers to deliver high quality treatment for all kidney patients in the UK

·     Act as a watchdog on changes in the service

·    Raise concerns and formulate suggestions in meetings with DH officials, the National Director for Kidney Care, MPs, Peers and the Health Commission

·    Act as a focal point for the renal community in the UK by providing the impetus and direction for future World Kidney Days

·    Collect and disseminate authoritative comparative information

·    Remain current and knowledgeable about the state of the service
